AMSOIL Master Filter Cross Reference
Let me
say that I am the kid that always had to tear his toys apart on Christmas Day to
see how they were built, or put together! I guess nothing has changed because
here I am a 50 year old man and am still tearing things apart to see how they
work! Sometimes you just have to prove things to yourself. So how does
AMSOIL differ
from everyone else? How can they go 25,000 to even 35,000 miles on an oil change
which is 5 to 10 times longer than anyone else? These questions just had to be
answered in my own mind. How can I feel confident in selling products to my
friends, family and people I know without knowing absolutely without a shadow of
a doubt that AMSOIL
is a superior product? So I set out on a mission. Its pretty hard for a person
to analyze a quart of oil because I am not a chemist, and do not have the
ability or the equipment or knowledge to run sophisticated tests on oil.
What I did have was
the ability to purchase many filters and cut them open and see the difference on
how they were built and constructed. The job of an oil filter is mainly to
filter the oil, but there is much more involved in that. It requires many things
to transpire for an oil filter to do a good job. One of the main things that is
a must you need plenty of full flow with minimum restrictions. The filter with
the best flow will allow the oil to pass may times through its filter media, to
catch all the microscopic particles that can ruin an engines metal & bearing
surfaces. The second thing that is required in a premium filter, is the media
that is used to actually filter the oil. The better the media used in this
process the better chance your engine has of running many thousands of miles
with trouble free service. So that being said lets examine some of the more
popular filters that are sold on the market today!
Look closely at the filters above, and let me explain how
an oil filter works. The oil in your engine is pumped to the filter through an
oil pump that is located beneath your engine down in the oil pan. This oil is
channeled through your block and then to the filter where it enters through the
small round holes that form a circle. As you can see the
AMSOIL EAO filter has massive large holes
that are not only HUGE in diameter but are also elongated to provide the MAXIMUM
amount of flow possible! The WIX filter has the second best ratings in my tests
and AMSOIL sells
these as our second filter line. Now on to the second restriction, the oil has
to cross is the ANTI DRAIN VALVE that you see through the small holes, this
valve is necessary in that it prevents the dirt oil from flowing back into your
engine once the engine shuts off. This valve also keeps the filter primed with
oil. The next restriction or hurdle the oil faces is the ability to even enter
the oil filter. By examining the two pictures of the filters tested below
you can see the oil has to SQUEEZE past the small half circled passages in the
FRAM filter before it can even get to the filter media. On the BOSCH filter
there is quite a large restriction there also! Look at the space between the
filter support and the outside of the can I measure this gap in it was less than
a 1/16 of an inch to say the least both of these filters Failed my test!
Now
lets look at the AMSOIL
EAO oil filter below and look at the distance between the filter support and the
exterior of the can there is no restriction here the distance measured was close
to 3/8 of an inch which equates to 6 times the flow capacity! This was the
second thing that I noticed that impressed me about the
AMSOIL
EAO oil filter!

In the picture below I measured the distance between the other filters support
and the inside wall of the filter can all of these filters were between 3/16 and
1/4" which is still far smaller of a gap that the AMSOIL
EAO oil filter. Now lets look at the filter media.
So this is where the rubber meets the road. What is the media that all of the
other filter manufactures use? Keep in mind I have cut open many filters other
than these. All the filters that I have cut open use cheap card board paper
cellulose filter media to protect your engine. This is the cheapest substance
and lowest solution available to protect your engine. When I discovered this I
was flabbergasted! So what does AMSOIL
use for their filter media? Synthetics just like their oil, SYNTHETICS do not
break down like cardboard filters do. They maintain their shape integrity and as
you can see the filter media is much thicker like a blanket this allows for a
greater storage capacity of contaminants that can harm your engine.
AMSOIL takes it one
step further and weaves a synthetic web of NANO FIBERS through this media, that
is so small that it traps particles down to 15 microns while the filter is 98.7
% efficient. How small is a micron? Well lets put it this way a human hair
measures about 80 microns so an AMSOIL
filter has the ability to catch small particles that can ruin your engine that
are 5 times smaller than the diameter of a hair. If you want to catch engine
damaging particles you have to cast a fine net! AMSOIL
solves this problem. So the bottom line, would you rather spend $15.00 to
protect your vehicle or $6.00 for a cheap oil filter that will not provide
adequate protection for your engine? You actually save money by using
AMSOIL products
because AMSOIL oil
and filters are guaranteed 25,000 miles or one year on an oil change! an Average
oil change using AMSOIL
costs $55.00 a year -VS - a conventional oil change of 3,000 miles is $30.00 X 8
oil changes = $240.00 for the same distance. AMSOIL
not only saves money but provides better protection for your vehicle! Since
AMSOIL has spent this much time effort and engineering on a filter, how much
more time do you think they have spent on the blending of their oil? I have
spent my time and money ruining $150.00 in filters to prove this point in this
demonstration. I want you to feel as comfortable as I do with this proven
technology! Bob Davis aka The Duke

AMSOIL
Ea Oil Filters (EaO)
Made with premium-grade full synthetic media. Ea Oil Filters
feature advanced full synthetic nanofiber technology, making
them the highest efficiency filters that are available for the
auto/light truck market. AMSOIL
EaO Filters are guaranteed for 25,000 miles or one year,
whichever comes first, when used in conjunction with
AMSOIL
Synthetic Motor Oil in gasoline and diesel vehicles in normal
service, 15,000 miles in severe service.

Absolute Efficiency
AMSOIL Ea Oil
Filters have the best efficiency rating in the industry. EaO Filters
provide a filtering efficiency in accordance with industry standard ISO
4548-12 of 98.7 percent at 15 microns, while competitive filters
containing conventional cellulose medias range from 40 to 80 percent
efficiency.
Less Restriction
AMSOIL Ea Oil
Filters have significantly lower restriction than conventional cellulose
media filters. Their small synthetic nanofibers trap smaller particles
and hold more contaminants, resulting in lower restriction. During cold
temperature warm-up periods, an EaO lube filter allows the oil to easily
flow through the filter compared to a typical cellulose filter. Lower
restriction decreases engine wear.
More Capacity
A filters capacity refers to the amount of contaminants it can hold and
still remain effective. AMSOIL
EaO Filters have a far greater capacity than competing filter lines.
When used in conjunction with AMSOIL
synthetic motor oils in normal service, EaO Filters are guaranteed to
remain effective for 25,000 miles or one year, whichever comes first.
Superior Construction
AMSOIL Ea Oil
Filters are made with premium-grade full synthetic media. The strictly
controlled processing of this media ensures accurate filter
construction, and is what allows Ea Oil Filters to deliver higher
capacity and efficiency along with better durability.
Over the service life of a conventional
cellulose filter, hot oil will degrade the resins that bind the media.
The Ea Oil Filters full synthetic media technology is resin-free. It
uses a wire screen backing that is pleated with the media for superior
strength.
Ea Oil Filters are constructed with HNBR
nitrile gaskets that are fully tested to extreme distances in numerous
severe environments. The filters also feature fully tucked seams, a
molded element seal, roll-formed threads and a long-lasting
premium-grade silicone anti-drain valve.
Applications
AMSOIL Ea Oil
Filters provide superior oil filtration for vehicles in the auto/light
truck market.
Service Life
AMSOIL Ea Oil
Filters are guaranteed for 25,000 miles or one year, whichever comes
first, when used in conjunction with AMSOIL
Synthetic Motor Oil. AMSOIL
recommends changing the oil filter at the time of oil change.
If used in conjunction
with AMSOIL
Motor Oil that is being changed at intervals less than 25,000 miles, the
EaO Filter should be changed at the same time. AMSOIL
EaO Filters are not guaranteed for 25,000 miles when used with any oil
other than AMSOIL
Motor Oil and should be changed according to vehicle OEM
recommendations.
